Underfloor Heating

Arrow Heating Solutions install underfloor heating in conjunction with Worcester Bosch Greenstar boilers, we provide a full design and installation service ensuring that the underfloor heating design meets your requirements taking into consideration the properties layout and construction.

Underfloor heating can be used with most types of floor construction and can also be used in conjunction with radiators by correctly designing the system and using the correct controls to achieve optimum output and efficiency - helping to reduce fuel bills.  We are also able to use an overlay system to provide underfloor heating on top of existing floors surfaces without the need to 'dig out' an existing floor area.  We have successfully installed underfloor using the overlay system onto an existing concrete floor marrying it up to an adjoining dropped step floor where the floor level has been raised to the same level using insulation.  Whatever the situation or problem you might envisage there are sure to be ways around it.

With regard to controls we will ensure that the system is controlled in such a way to allow you to choose when you want your heating on, off or even at a reduced temperature setting, very similar to the way 'traditional' heating systems are controlled.  We can even design your system to allow for individual rooms to be seperately controlled, similar to using thermostatic radiator valves on radiators.

When carrying our home improvements; whether an extension, conservatory or full renovation project the option to install underfloor heating is definitely worth considering.

The low floor surface temperature (around 27°C) results in an extremely comfortable, luxurious environment that is completely safe.  The heat produced by under floor heating systems is different from radiators too. Under floor heating emits a far greater proportion of its heat as radiant rather than convected heat. For the same comfort level the room air temperature can be 2°C lower because radiant heat warms the surfaces rather than the air around the surfaces. This means you feel more comfortable. The lower temperature means less fuel is consumed, and the system is more economical, saving more money every year.

Underfloor heating is generally more expensive to install than radiators.  However, due to lower running costs, higher comfort and the added value it gives to your home, the initial expense is more than justified.

The Benefits of Underfloor Heating

  • Space and Design: Every square metre of your home can be fully utilised. Underfloor heating allows freedom for interior design, allowing you to furnish your home to suit you rather than radiators determining the placement of furniture.
  • Hygiene: Healthy indoor environment. There will be less dust and the hygienic environment will be improved, helping to reduce house dust mites.
  • Labour saving: Cleaning of the floors will be easier and wet floors will dry very quickly.
  • Comfort: Underfloor heat will provide the highest comfort levels due to its even distribution of heat.
  • Silence: Compared to radiator systems, there is no noise.
  • Cost effective: Saves energy and running costs. Energy savings from 15-40% can be achieved. Underfloor heating is considered by some to be a luxury; the actual cost, however, is very competitive.
  • Ease of control: Small temperature difference between the floors means the system is practically self regulating.
  • Low-temperature system: It is possible to use different heat sources – the water in the pipes can be heated by using oil boilers, gas boilers, ground source heat pumps and more.
